Setting up Project Spatial to record

Make sure you join us on our Project Spatial Discord for the latest information.  As we're still in Pre-Alpha, we'd love to hear your feedback and areas where we can make this easier.

Recording is currently in early preview.  We are not sending further invites at this time but will be opening up access to everyone in the next couple weeks.

Recording Spatial videos is only available on Steam (PCVR).  Quest standalone devices just aren't powerful enough, yet, although we're working on it.

STEP 1: Download LIV on Steam

Download and run LIV on Steam

(If it’s your first time recording)
Launch LIV from Steam
The LIV dll windows registry is needed but isn’t currently available in the creator recording tool.  As a workaround, you’ll need to install and launch LIV once and then you won’t have to do it again.

You can close LIV afterwards.

This step only needs to happen once, you can skip this step next time.

STEP 2: Download LIV Playtest on Steam

On the LIV Steam page, you can opt into the LIV Playtest to get the Project Spatial Alpha.

Once installed, you'll find LIV Playtest in your Installed games.
